Coopedota RL is internally organized as follows:

General Assembly of Members: The supreme authority, it represents all of the members; their decisions are unalterable until another assembly, they’re responsible for selecting the members of the Governing Council and assistant committees. The assembly is held once a year.

Governing Council: Its members only have power as a whole and not individually, their representation is appointed for a period of 2 years. Within their responsibilities are the leadership and senior management of the cooperative, in addition to dictating the policies, regulations, rules and procedures governing the Cooperative at an administrative level.

Supervisory Committee: Formed by 3 members of the cooperative, designated in the General Assembly of Members for a period of 2 years, its role is the fulfillment of the statute by the administrative area and faithful discharge of its duties to the Cooperative; it also oversees the efforts of the cooperative and informs the Governing Council of their performance.

Education and Social Welfare Committee: Formed by 3 members elected at the General Assembly of Associates for a period of 2 years, their responsibility is to guarantee facilities for cooperative education by all means available to them; they also present social welfare projects that benefit members of the Cooperative and their families.

General Management: The manager legally represents the Cooperative and is the person responsible for implementing the agreements of the Governing Council; he also manages the affairs of the cooperative and coordinates with key sectors to make sure the statutes of the cooperative are met, such as:

  1. Commercial profitability generated by the cooperative
  2. The position occupied by coffee in the national and international markets
  3. The productivity achieved by the wet mill
  4. Development and performance of staff in the Cooperative at a departmental level, and achievements in line with the goals set for short, medium and long term


Accounting Department: Responsible for all accounting and financial records and transactions that the cooperative incurs.

Department of Quality Management, Environmental and Occupational Health:
In charge of the design, implementation and monitoring of the management systems necessary for the proper performance of quality standards, environment, sustainability, safety, occupational health, as well as certifications such as Café Practices (Starbucks), Rain Forest, Fair Trade, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
